Advanced Metal Works, Inc. was only a dream to Dale & Carol Cross when they started their first heating and air conditioning repair business in 1980. As their business grew, so did the need for customized sheet metal products that were not available through local markets. Starting with just a hand brake in a garage, it has developed into a high tech and fully equipped sheet metal fabrication shop capable of doing almost anything related to various metal materials. Today with the involvement of their two sons, Graydon and Preston, it is known as one of the best custom shops in the central valley. Advanced Metal Works, Inc. and the Cross family sheet metal construction company, Four C’s Construction, operate from a strategic location easily accessible by major freeways in historic downtown Fresno .
Advanced Metal Works, Inc. was inspired by the demands of the booming construction industry which needed high quality, locally available, reasonably priced custom fabricated sheet metal products with a quick turnaround. The sheet metal industry has seen rapid growth and change as new architectural designs and construction alternatives have developed. AMW has been at the forefront of that change, continually upgrading technologies and equipment to provide customers with the quality and service that sets them apart in the central valley. The Company prides itself in taking a team approach to give the customer what he wants, at a fair price, in a timely manner.
2018 & 2017 News Blurb:
Update from Construction Day and our work with Fresno County Office of Education CTE Student Hires – Education Matters
Along with Four C’s Construction we hosted our first Construction Day event on January 19th 2017 with approximately 55 students in attendance. It was an overall success for everyone involved and was a fun experience for the students. We hope to be able to have more events like this in collaboration with Fresno County Office of Education and other organizations in our community. These events are important because they bring awareness to career technical education, in particular to the construction industry.
On May 26th 2017, our team members had Active Shooter training. The team at Knowledge Saves Lives, Inc. ran us through scenarios, taught us what to look for and walked us through drills on how to react to an active shooter situation. The hope is our team builds muscle memory if ever an incident were to take place at or near our Downtown office. We take the safety of our team members very seriously, emergency preparedness is just one of the factors of keeping our team safe on a daily basis.
